Did you know on average the human body needs 8 positive touches a day to survive? This includes: hand shakes, a hand on the shoulder, a hug, a kiss. etc. So you people saying, people that are depressed are just upset because they don’t get attention, in a way, you’re right, when your body lacks positive touches it can stunt your growth and effect your mental and emotional development. Give a hug.
I’m not saying that you should choose between your friends and your girlfriend, BUT if you make plans with your girlfriend you should keep them rather that waiting till she tries to confirm the time to tell her you have now made plans with your guy friends.
In the case that you are canceling n her to see your friends, you are choosing your friends over her, all on your own. That is no longer something she has to ask you to do.
Additionally, don’t tell your girlfriend that you have missed out partying with your friends “so many times” to hang out with her, if you have never in fact told her that you were turning down plans with your guy friends to see her; guilt tripping is not the answer.
It is OKAY to hang out with both your friends AND your girlfriend at the same time! This will actually make your girlfriend feel included and like you are proud to have her. Spending 3 days a week with your guy friends, [partying, smoking and drinking], may cause questions of your faithfulness to her.
Calling your girlfriend Irrational is not a good way to calm her down.
Telling your girlfriend that you don’t have time for her (after spending 3 days with friends and canceling on her) because you have 3 finals to study for and 2 papers to do, is NOT a good way to make her feel better.
